New Year, and New Face to the Active Ability Team.. Meet Nadia!

What motivates you to be an Exercise Physiologist (EP)?

I have a strong passion for helping people improve their lives through the use of exercise. I am particularly interested in helping those with different population groups. My main interest is working with individuals living with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis. I was inspired whilst on my first university placement. I worked at a multiple sclerosis specific clinic. I really enjoyed my time with the clients, helping them with their exercises, developing progressions for them as well as enhancing my skills as an exercise physiologist in this area.

"I originally chose to study EP so I could understand how to effectively help my family members manage their chronic conditions. now I can help many others."

Degree completed: Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology), University of Sydney.

What other roles are you currently working in away from Active Ability? I work at Active Ability full time, and I am also training a few clients in the gym I am involved with.

What do you enjoy doing to unwind from a long day of work? I make it my daily goal to visit the gym at least once a day, whether to lift weights, or simply stretch. The social aspect of communicating with other gym members, as well as the physical activity relaxes my mind.

Any hobbies and interests? You’ll find me hiking somewhere in the wilderness on the weekends and taking scenic photos. On a rainy day, I’ll be watching some form of sport, and enjoying embroidery.

Could Nadia be the right fit for you?
